What You Can’t Live Without During the First Few Months
In our first ultrasound, the nurse nonchalantly said, “there are two babies in there!” Holy cow. My excitement and elation eventually drifted into a mild panic as I turned to Ryan and said, “Oh my god, we’re going to need so many things. Where do we even start?” We were wading into uncharted territory here,… Continue reading

No NICU Nightmares
The boys are two now. If you haven’t lived with toddlers lately, let me tell you what that’s like. It’s a lot of emotional attempts at independence, rare occasions when our listening ears are actually working, new (and very strong) opinions, and more energy than those five monkeys who jump on the bed. Sounds fun,… Continue reading

Monthly Dose of Oxygen
Flight attendants tell you that, in the event things go south, you should put your oxygen mask on before helping others. After our last flight, this got me thinking. Well, my first thought was, wow if you really think about those instructions, that’s really cutthroat and it’s every man for themselves here (see ya at… Continue reading

Life As We Know It
Wow, it’s been a while…a while since I had an afternoon during nap time when I could open my laptop in peace and quiet for anything other than paying bills or adding to my Amazon cart. Quite a few things have changed over the past month. Well, more like a month and some change…but who’s… Continue reading

Mama Called the Doctor and the Doctor Said…
The doctor didn’t say anything about monkeys jumping on the bed, but he wanted me to tell you it SUCKS when your kids are sick. There’s usually two paths this situation takes…spoiler alert, neither one is all that great. Option 1: Well, at least just one of them is sick. This is quite possibly the… Continue reading

SAHM
This past week marks one year since I stepped away from my position at school to work for two guys who, at the time, were slightly bald, demanded grueling work hours, napped during the work day, drank their lunch, and threw the occasional tantrum (where do I file a complaint for those working conditions?). Aka:… Continue reading

“Dad!”
I could not let Father’s Day pass by without acknowledging the man who fathered the children who inspired this whole blog, aka my best guy. Ryan is kindhearted, has a work ethic that is second to none, will give you the shirt off his back, and truly lives to make me and the boys happy.… Continue reading

No Jokes About Dad
When I texted my mom to recap her life lessons for my Mother’s Day post, my dad thought it would be hilarious to pass along a few of his tried and trues (he was texting from my mom’s phone and thought I wouldn’t notice. What kind of fool does he take me for?!). So, I… Continue reading

Maybe I’m a Selfish Mom
I prefer structure, crave consistency, and thrive on schedules. This is not new information, and I definitely don’t keep this a secret. So, is Jack and Nick’s daily routine for them, or for me? Maybe it’s a little of both; a win-win for both parties. I like a full night’s worth of uninterrupted sleep. A… Continue reading

Expect the Unexpected
For the over-thinkers and planners of the world, there’s something very comforting about the phrase: what to expect when you’re expecting. I mean, there’s even a whole book with the same title. With my personality, you’d expect that I read that book cover to cover. I really have no idea why I didn’t, it’s not… Continue reading
About Me
Hi! I’m Cassie I originally started this account as a way to answer the question, “Twins! How do you do it?!” but those twins I mentioned are starting pre-school in the fall, so I’ll have some free time. A former teacher, I have always loved clothes, putting outfits together, finding a good deal, and picking up style tips. Now that the world is my oyster with this newfound freedom, I’m feeling an urge to explore my creativity in that area. I hope you’ll follow along, and invite your friends!
